Timesheet Status Indicators
Timesheet Status Indicators
Section titled “Timesheet Status Indicators”Time Tracking uses visual indicators to quickly communicate the state of each employee’s timesheet entries.
Daily Cell Status
Section titled “Daily Cell Status”Each cell in the weekly timesheet grid shows a colour-coded status:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Time fully logged for the day |
| Amber | Partial time entry (some hours logged but potentially incomplete) |
| Red | Time is due but has not been logged |
| Grey | No time expected (non-working day, leave, etc.) |
The status is rendered as an HTML badge within each cell, making it easy to scan across the entire week at a glance.
Reading the Grid
Section titled “Reading the Grid”- Scan horizontally to see an individual employee’s week
- Scan vertically to see the team’s status for a particular day
- Look for red cells to quickly identify missing timesheet entries
Weekly Total Column
Section titled “Weekly Total Column”The total column aggregates all daily entries into a single hours/minutes figure. Compare this against expected hours to identify under- or over-reporting.
Approval and Lock Status
Section titled “Approval and Lock Status”Timesheets may have approval and lock statuses:
- Locked entries cannot be modified (typically after manager approval)
- Unlocked entries can still be edited
If you need to change a locked entry, contact your manager or administrator to unlock it first.
- Log your time daily to maintain accuracy
- Review your weekly totals before the end of the week
- Ensure time is linked to the correct jobs and tasks for accurate project costing
